Department of
Pharmaceutics
- The Institute has three Pharmaceutics labs. The labs conduct experiments related to the formulation and evaluation of various dosage forms like Tablets, capsules,Injectables, creams, ointments, Eye/Ear drops, Solutions, Mixtures etc.
- The laboratories have specialized equipments like Tablet Disintegration apparatus, Dissolution apparatus, Friability test apparatus, Hardness tester. Mechanical stirrers, Percolators, Homogenizers, Ball mill, Digital balance etc.
- A well established Microbiology lab with aseptic Chamber is available in the department. Equipments like Laminar air flow bench, Antibiotic zone reader, Colony counter, Bacteriological Incubator, Autoclave, aseptic hood, Filtration Assembly are present in the lab.
- The Institute posses three labs that conducts experiments like synthesis and analysis of various Pharmaceutical products.
- The labs conducting synthetic experiments consist of Fumigation chamber and equipments like Vacuum pumps, Hot air oven, Magnetic Stirrer ,microwave oven and the Analytical lab has Karl Fischer apparatus, Kjeldahl’s apparatus, Digital pH meter,Colorimeter, Potentiometer, Conductivity meter, Polarimeter etc.

Pharmacology
- Pharmacology department deals with experiments related to the Therapeutic actions and Toxicology of drugs on the human body and the response of the body to the drug.
- The Pharmacology and APHE Labs contains specialised equipment like Analgesiometer, Eddy’s hot plate, Actophotometer, Rotarod apparatus, Sherrington’s Kymograph Machine / Polyrite, Organ bath, Pole climbing apparatus, Convulsiometer, Sphygmomanometer, Sahli’s Haemocytometer, Permanent Slides for various tissues, levers and cannulas etc.

Pharmacognosy
- This department deals with the study of crude drugs.
- Various Phytochemical screening and
Extraction of drugs are performed in this lab. - Lab posses Instruments like Projection
Microscope, IR Moisture balance, Muffle
furnace, Clevenger apparatus, Sohxlet assembly.
TLC kits, Microscopes etc.
Sophisticated
Analytical
Instrumentation Lab
The Sophisticated Analytical Instrumentation Lab(SAIL) is equipped with HPLC, UV spectrophotometer, Brookfield Viscometer, BOD Incubator Refrigerated Centrifuge, Flame Photometer,Flourimeter, Nephelo -Turbiditimeter,Refractometer, Digital pH meter,Electrophoresis Unit etc.
Machine Room
Machine room is specially designed to accommodate all the equipments used for the manufacturing operations for various dosage forms. Some of the major equipments installed in the Machine room are Tablet Punch Machine, Tablet Coating pan, Bottle washing machine, liquid filling Machine, Bottle sealing and crimping Machine, Ampoule washing Machine, Ampoule Sealing Machine, Tray dryer, Humidity control Oven, Capsule Filling Machine, Capsule counter etc.
Computer Room
- Institute has well-equipped computer center. Existing lab has latest Pentium and Laser/Inkjet printers, Scanners and Multimedia kits.
- Total number of computers presently available includes 1 server and 50 workstations.
